March 13, 2014Think about all the women who have made an impact in your life. Recognize that their impact can be both a positive or negative one and both tend to impact our lives in very different ways. Both have a tendency to be unforgettable to us as we maneuver through our life. So what types of women tend to have the biggest impact on you? How do you believe these women impact other people? Do they act in a way that is respectful to others? Are these women someone that others want to be around? Do their lives benefit others in a marked way?
March 8th is International Women’s Day, an observance that began in the early 1900’s during a time of great expansion and turbulence in the industrialized world. It was a time of great population growth and the rise of radical ideologies. Women the world over began to fight against oppression and inequality. We are all fortunate that these women decided to “fight the good fight” for without them there is no telling where our world would be today. For more information check out internationalwomensday.com which is a global hub for sharing International Women’s Day information, events, news and resources.
And PLEASE take the time to tell all the wonderful women you know just how much of an impact they have had on your life. Although we don’t need a special day to tell others how wonderful they are, here is an opportunity to do so that spans decades. May we all take the time to appreciate and support the ongoing efforts of women around the world working for equality and advancement of women everywhere!
What kind of world do you want to build? Hopefully you are working diligently every day to master your demons and move the world forward in healthy ways. Moving away from addictions and into a recovery program will help you to have a positive impact on another person that is lasting! “Fight the good fight!” Work to be like all of these wonderful women around the world who are working toward a better world for us all.
